About Barefoot Provisions
Barefoot Provisions is an online retail store that features items curated specifically for those following some form of Primal/Paleo lifestyle.  The founders got tired of having a lack of options for purchasing healthy food and decided to create their own convenient solution for like minded people.
While they do cater to the Primal crowd they encourage a more balanced approach to eating that allows people to find their own path.  Which is why their main focus is on selecting flavorful and delicious foods that still fall somewhere on the healthy and nutritious spectrum.

Products and Ingredients:

The items featured in their online store adhere to a basic set of criteria and must be unprocessed foods, healthy fats and oils, organic/wild foods, free-range pastured grass-fed, and sustainably harvested.  They favor small artisanal companies that share the same values as Barefoot Provisions.
You will not find any Refined carbs, Grains, Refined sugars, High-fructose corn syrup, Additives, Preservatives, Fillers, Gluten, GMOs, Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or Hormones & antibiotics.
So while they may not keep 100% Paleo stock, based on these principles, you can rest assured that whatever you order from them is a step above any conventional counterpart.  If you do have any concerns they have full ingredient lists for every product that they sell.
To give you an idea of what their store is all about here are some of their most popular items: grass fed jerky from Nick’s Sticks, Volcanic Pili Nuts, Epic Bars, Cookies from Caveman Bakery, Alive and Radiant Kale Chips, the list goes on featuring more healthy snack options, nut butters, spices and herbs, paleo flours, and much more.

Customer Service:

If you have any questions or need to make changes to an order you can reach the company at

Online Reviews/Complaints:

The company has been supported by many in the Paleo community with lots of bloggers using giveaways to their store as contest prizes and rewards to their readers.  They have had positive writeups and have a growing online social community.

Competitors and Alternatives:

With the growing demand for Paleo food many online companies have sprung up to meet those needs.  Some other large online retailers include Organic Prairie, Thrive Market, Vital Choice and Julian Bakery.

Worst customer service ever experienced

i had an order and the almond butter jar came smashed on the bottom with glass inside so being that they will not allow you to contact them by phone and its email and instagram only i sent an email just being polite and asking that someone call or email me as i left my number, just so i can get another almond butter. I also sent a picture right away. then two hours later i open a package of coconut jerky and its was filled with mold. now i wrote back saying please get in touch with me and sent a picture of that. I emailed them 5 days in a row after and never got a response so then went to instagram and sent them same details there and never got a response. They suck.I mean really suck. Not even the courtesy to reply. So today i uploaded the pictures on instagram so everyone can see

I agree. They suck! I received an opened jar of salsa in my order in May. Emailed several times. Even posted on their Facebook page. Nothing! Just now, over 2 months later, I did a cc dispute. Not for the $6.29. It's the principle. Their reviews regarding costumer service are awful. They shouldn't get away with it.

No response to requests for assistance

I never received my order and no one responds to my email inquiries. I simply receive an automated response that says
Thanks for your request. Our barefoot customer care specialists are on it! We'll get back to you soon.

To add additional comments, just reply to this email.

Of course I have never heard from them and I have checked spam.

Poor poor poor customer service

Same here and I requested it to be canceled - but then instead of a reply, two days later I received an e-mail that my order had shipped and is on its way, but still no response to my original inquiry. I ordered on 1/8/2020 and today is 1/20/2020.

So disappointed

Pork rinds smelled old and weren't peasant. Beef sticks were spicy , not pleasantly and had mushy greasy texture. Dried and spiced beef had unpleasant taste. I gave these as Xmas gifts and nobody liked them including me. A lot of money for nothing. Got other stuff too but can't rate yet. I doubt that I would ever shop here again. I have not got any positive feedback to give.
