DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! SOoo DISAPPOINTING!
I heard this site advertised on my local radio station and it sounded pretty cool if I can grocery shop, get the best prices including delivery, so I thought I'd give it a try.
How DISAPPOINTING!!!! They don't seem to stock anything that I shop for (brand name items)..NO brand name dog food..Iams, purina etc., NO brand name drinks..coke mountain dew etc., NO common breads like wonder bread NO NOTHING! They only seem to carry some generic brands that I've never even heard of?!
Don't waste your time using the search box because you won't see any brand names or items that you are used to buying at your local grocery stores...just a bunch of no name BS! WHAT A DISAPPOINTING WASTE OF MY TIME AND WHAT MISLEADING ADVERTISING ON THE LOCAL RADIO! SO MY QUESTION TO THE GENIUSES THAT DESIGNED THIS SITE? WHY? WHAT'S THE PURPOSE? YOU PROMOTE IT AS A SITE I CAN SHOP FOR GROCERIES AND GET THE BEST PRICES INCLUDING DELIVERY, YET THERE AREN'T ANY PRODUCTS THAT I OR ANYONE ELSE HAVE EVER HEARD OF?! WHAT WHEE YOU GUYS THINKING?!

Its specialty food...not health food. And they do misrepresent their company with the radio advertising.
you're right. I checked out their website and only vaguely recall seeing a couple of the brands. After years of grocery shopping, and checking the ratings of products in various magazines, I've developed a list of favorite brands; and I don't see them offered. So Direct Eats might be good for someone just starting out, but I'm afraid that they won't fit the needs of fussy buyers like me.

Agreed! Stay away, everyone! I heard the same radio advertisement, and that's exactly what I thought as well. But when I checked it out, I found absolutely nothing that I usually buy. And not only that, you have to by in bulk! It's like an online BJ's or Costco, but without any known brands. Like you, I asked the same question---WHY??? What a joke!
it is suppose to be like a farmers market, there are not going to be brand names, it is local flavors from around the country in one site not national brands, it is meant to help smaller businesses
I ordered quite a few items. everything was shipped fast. no problem with order. great prices and products. Will order again in the future.
THEY SENT ME THE WRONG PRODUCT.I EMAILED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND EVEN TRIED TO CHAT WITH THEM.THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME AFTER MY FIRST COMPLAINT.I JUST WANTED THE RIGHT PRODUCT.THE FOOD IS HIT AND MISS.SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO ORDER 3 TO SIX ITEMS.IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM YOU ARE STUCK.I WOULD SAY HALF OF THEIR PRODUCTS ARENT VERY GOOD.CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY DOESNT EXSIT. I AM NOT GOING TO ORDERING FROM THEM AGAIN.
I use other venues to purchase grocery items online and after hearing the advertisement for Direct Eats I had high hopes. I waited a week or so after hearing the push on the radio for this company, before taking a look at their website. I found a few things I was ready to purchase and did so. My debit card was charged immediately. I waited 3 - 4 days and didn't hear anything from them in regards to my items being shipped and so contacted the company. I waited another day for a reply and was told that my items had shipped. Later on that day I got tracking information. I followed it and was expecting delivery of all the items I ordered and paid for, on a Friday. Sometime on the day of the scheduled delivery, I got another email to say the dog food I had ordered and been charged for, that was supposedly shipped and had a tracking number even, was out of stock! I contact the company again and they said that obviously there was a mix up and the dog food was indeed out of stock and I would be refunded for that item. I was, days later. Improvements need to be made if they are going to retain any of my business. I returned today to give them another go and find one of the items I ordered previously at a cost of $16.95 is now listed at $62.95. No thank you. I'll stick with the tried and true companies I have been using.
As another reviewer mentioned, their prices jumped up considerably overnight after putting them on my wish list. But these prices had to have been erroneously entered because they were unrealistically cheap. I did order several of one item, however, for an amazing price, and still received it, and the next day saw that they had changed (corrected?) their price. If it was a mistaken price, they honored it. Their regular prices are very good, and they guarantee that nobody will undercut them - email them a link to a better price and they'll beat it. The shopping can be a little time-consuming because they have a decent selection to comparative price amongst, and its a little faster if you know exactly which brand, size, and quantity you want. I've turned on several happy people to them already. They're gonna go far. If I had any money I'd buy their stock.
I had been browsing for several days and finally set up an account. I was going to purchase 4 items amazingly the price had increase by over 50% on each one of them.....I wonder how that happened....
I agree. The same thing happened to me. I have made a list of items that I have been following since I am not in need of the items yet. I asked customer service if prices change, monthly, or whenever. She don't me they rarely do. They guess they don't know. Customer service is also laxed; when a rep didn't know an answer to a question, she said she'll get back to me. She didn't. I email her again and still haven't been answered. I do much better when my local stores and some online merchants have sales.
You don't have to go anywhere else to fill your pantry. The have the best selection and best prices plus free SHIPPING. Also no membership fee.
